Since its inception in 2015, the ESL Pro League has evolved into one of the most prestigious tournaments in Counter-Strike esports. While formats, locations, and team structures have changed over the years, the competition remains a proving ground for the world’s best teams.

As ESL Pro League enters its 21st season, several organizations have left their mark on its history. From dominant dynasties to surprise victories, here’s a breakdown of the teams that have hoisted the coveted ESL Pro League trophy.

The One-Time Champions

Luminosity Gaming – ESL Pro League Season 3

The Brazilian squad led by Gabriel ‘FalleN’ Toledo and Marcelo ‘coldzera’ David made history by defeating G2 Esports in a thrilling 3-2 grand final. This victory was monumental for the Americas’ Counter-Strike scene, as Europe had claimed the first two ESL Pro League titles.

Cloud9 – ESL Pro League Season 4

Cloud9 cemented North America’s place in ESL Pro League history by defeating SK Gaming in Brazil. The roster featured Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesie and Jacky ‘Stewie2K’ Yip, both of whom later became influential figures in the esports streaming scene.

G2 Esports – ESL Pro League Season 5

Despite their IEM and BLAST Premier successes, G2 Esports has only claimed one ESL Pro League title. Their fully French roster, featuring Dan ‘apEX’ Madesclaire, secured the trophy in Dallas, Texas.

SK Gaming – ESL Pro League Season 6

SK Gaming bounced back from their Season 4 loss by defeating FaZe Clan in Odense, Denmark. Notably, this roster still included FalleN and coldzera, making them two-time ESL Pro League champions across different teams.

Team Liquid – ESL Pro League Season 9

With NAF, Twistzz, Stewie2K, nitr0, and EliGE, Team Liquid secured their only ESL Pro League trophy in Montpellier, France, after defeating G2 Esports. The team’s 2019 success also saw them clinch an Intel Grand Slam title.

Heroic – ESL Pro League Season 13

Heroic claimed the first global ESL Pro League trophy after the COVID-19 pandemic by beating Gambit Esports. This roster included Martin ‘stavn’ Lund and Casper ‘cadiaN’ Møller, both of whom later moved to Astralis.

Team Vitality – ESL Pro League Season 16

Led by Mathieu ‘ZywOo’ Herbaut and apEX, Team Vitality secured their only ESL Pro League victory in 2022, defeating Team Liquid in a closely contested final.

Fnatic – ESL Pro League Seasons 1 & 2

Fnatic made history by winning the first two ESL Pro League titles in 2015. The team’s legendary roster included JW, flusha, olofmeister, KRIMZ, pronax, and dennis.

Astralis – ESL Pro League Seasons 7 & 8

Dominating the 2018-2019 era, Astralis won back-to-back ESL Pro League trophies with a roster featuring dev1ce, dupreeh, Xyp9x, gla1ve, and Magisk. They also secured three Major titles during this period.

NAVI – ESL Pro League Seasons 14 & 20

NAVI, led by s1mple and b1t, claimed their first ESL Pro League trophy in 2021. In 2024, they returned to the top by defeating Eternal Fire in the Season 20 finals.

FaZe Clan – ESL Pro League Seasons 15 & 17

With a star-studded roster, FaZe Clan won ESL Pro League in 2022 and 2023, triumphing in Düsseldorf, Germany, and Saint Julian’s, Malta. Their lineup included Twistzz, rain, broky, karrigan, and ropz.

The Most Dominant Team – MOUZ (Three Titles)

MOUZ – ESL Pro League Seasons 10, 18, & 19

MOUZ, formerly known as mousesports, is the only team to win three global ESL Pro League titles. Their victories in 2019, 2023, and 2024 showcase their long-term consistency. Players like frozen, ropz, and karrigan played pivotal roles in their success.

The Legacy of ESL Pro League

From Luminosity’s breakthrough victory to MOUZ’s dominance, the ESL Pro League has been a battleground for some of the most legendary Counter-Strike teams in history. With its 21st season set to introduce new formats and locations, the league’s future remains as exciting as ever.
